This course introduces Corporate Law in its historical and comparative contexts by engaging with the wide and growing literature that deals with the role of law and institutions in the development of nations.


Welcome to the Gad & Birgit Rausing Library's guide to Comparative Corporate Law. This course deals with the role of Corporate Law in ensuring effective governance of business enterprises, which in turn affect social and political structures of a state and society. In this course, we cover key theoretical and practical issues relating to the study of Comparative Corporate Law & Governance.

LUMS Law Journal - Call for Papers

LUMS Law Journal (LLJ) is pleased to announce a call for papers for its fourth volume. LLJ is a peer-reviewed publication of the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL), LUMS. The primary objective of LLJ is to provide a forum for scholarly discourse amongst law students, faculty, lawyers, judges, practitioners and experts on important legal and social issues, which may lead to policy reforms. LLJ is run by a student body under the close supervision of law faculty at LUMS.

13th LUMUN Conference held at LUMS 

The Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) hosted its 13th LUMUN (LUMS Model United Nations) Conference on December 26, 2016. The event saw 900+ attendees spread across 115 delegations from all over Pakistan, making LUMUN ’17 a huge success.

Model United Nations (MUN) is an educational simulation and academic competition organized annually by LUMS. The objective is for students to learn more about diplomacy, international relations, and the United Nations itself. 


LUMS Students Achieve Highest Pass Ratio In CSS Exams 2016

The Central Superior Services (CSS) of Pakistan, considered the prize profession in the country attracts the best intellects to its cluster. Every year thousands of candidates appear for the test for what might be considered as the most promising career prospect in the country. This year was no different, where 9,643 candidates sat for the CSS  written test. However, only 202 (2.09%) of these qualified. This is the lowest percentage of successful students since 2011. This might be the most dismal picture as yet where only four out of the 150 universities were able to showcase a double digit success rate.

SAHSOL Students Visit The Lahore High Court

On November 23, 2016, students of Mr. Zafar Kalanauri's Legal Aid Clinic class at the Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law (SAHSOL) at the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) visited the Lahore High Court for a study tour.

The students visited the courts of two different Honourable Judges namely Justice Shahid Hameed Dar and Justice Shahid Waheed, and had an interactive discussion and Q/A session with the Honourable Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court.

Law & Politics Society

The Law and Politics Society is a student organization at LUMS that hopes to encourage legal and political discourse on national and international issues. It aspires to enable students to understand the application of legal principles, and overcome obstacles in actual legal practice by addressing real-life situations through quality debate. Therefore, the LPS aims to cultivate in students at LUMS and abroad an interest in the professional aspect of law and politics through debates, panel discussions, and moots.

LUMS Law Journal

LUMS Law Journal is a peer-reviewed journal of Shaikh Ahmad Hassan School of Law, Lahore University of Management Sciences. The primary aim of the Journal is to provide a forum for scholarly debates amongst law students, faculty, lawyers, judges, practitioners and experts on important legal issues, which may lead to policy reforms.It is intended to stimulate interest in all matters pertaining to law, with an emphasis on matters arising from the relationship of law to other disciplines.
