SDSB IMPACT Vol. 2 Issue 1 HAS BEEN PUBLISHED
Volume 2 Issue 1 of SDSB IMPACT has been published online. This is the research newsletter of the Suleman Dawood School of Business. The purpose of this newsletter is to summarise important findings of the research conducted by the SDSB faculty and share those findings with the public - especially with managers, executives, entrepreneurs, and policy-makers. We hope that the cutting-edge research being done at SDSB can have a positive impact on the managerial and industrial practices and policies in Pakistan..

 

REDC CONDUCTS PROGRAMME ON BUSINESS PLANNING & FINANCIAL MODELLING FOR PTCL

The Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) 4-day programme, Business Planning & Financial Modelling for Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) concluded on December 7, 2017. The objective of the programme was to enable participants to create and sustain the economic value of a business. Led by programme directors Syed Mubashir Ali and Atif Saeed Chaudhry, the programme focused on financial modelling, capital budgeting, forecasting, cash flow estimation and risk analysis.

The programme was very well received by participants with key appreciation for the interactive learning pedagogy, teaching expertise, in-depth knowledge of the faculty team and high quality of programme management and centre support.

RESEARCH SEMINAR ON THE IMPACT OF CPEC ON PAKISTAN’S INDUSTRIAL SECTOR - DR M AMAN ULLAH (CHIEF ECONOMIST, P&D BOARD)
Dr. Aman Ullah, the Chief Economist for Planning and Development Department of Government of Punjab spoke to the audience on Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Suleman Dawood School of Business. Dr Aman is the Focal Person of Government of the Punjab for Sustainable Development Goals, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Punjab Growth Strategy and Ease of Doing Business Reform Agenda. He is also supervising the Punjab Economic Research Institute (PERI) and Punjab Bureau of Statistics. Dr Aman spoke about the “The Impact of CPEC on Pakistan’s Industrial Sector”. He emphasized on the part of China’s greater initiative “One Belt-One Road”, that is approximately a 3,000-kilometre network of roads, pipelines and railways to transport goods from Gwadar port in Pakistan to Kashgar in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China. .
