LUMS SOE signs an MoU with Aalam Bibi Trust

Syed Ahsan Ali and Syed Maratib Ali School of Education recently signed an MoU with Aalam Bibi Trust. Founded in 2005 by Dr. Farah Deeba Akram, Aalam Bibi Trust is an independent, non-political, charitable organization committed to aiding the underprivileged. Its mission is to offer education, food, and health services, empowering individuals to escape the cycle of poverty through comprehensive development in education, social well-being, and ethics. To this end, the organization has lunched several initiatives including free of cost formal education from pre-school to Matriculation along with free food and health care facilities, inclusive education programs for differently-abled students, facilitation services for its students to pursue higher education and vocational educational programs and many such other notable endeavors. Through these initiatives it has benefited more than 1000 students over the past 18 years. Read More

Dr. Mario Novelli delved into the historical and contemporary relationship between actors involved in 'International Education and Development' and foreign intervention, specifically focusing on Education in Emergencies (EiE). The talk examined Rothberg's concept of the 'implicated subject,' which looks beyond the simple 'victim and perpetrator' binary to recognize how individuals are entangled in systems of violence and injustice. Read More

Dr. Dana Burde delved into Afghanistan's educational history, highlighting critical moments when Afghan and foreign leaders sought to assert their authority and expand their political reach. From the Cold War era to the Soviet invasion and the years spanning 2001 to 2021, education emerged as a powerful force shaping both conflict and peace dynamics while presenting significant political obstacles. Read More

Convocation 2023

On June 24th, 2023, LUMS held the Convocation ceremony for the batch of 2023. Dr. Faisal Bari, Dean School of Education welcomed the students of MPhil and Executive MPhil ELM Class of 2023. While addressing the students, he said: “You are here because you have chosen education or education has chosen you. Either way, this is the area where your impact will leave an impression on the generations to come.” Adding further to this, he said: “The entire output of what you have achieved till now depends on your approach to pursue your dreams.” Read More

Your bibliography must follow either the APA, MLA or The Chicago Manual of Style. Whatever style you use, make sure you use it correctly and consistently. Do not have more than one style in a bibliography.

Ministry of Federal Education

Ministry of Professional and Technical Training was established in July 2011 in the wake of 18th Amendment. Some of the Departments / Organizations previously under MOLM and MOE were placed under this Ministry. Supreme Court of Pakistan in its Judgment dated 25th November, 2011 directed that in view of insertion of Article 25-A in the Constitution, the Federal Government cannot absolve itself from the responsibility of providing Education to its citizens.
