A Bittersweet Farewell

Graduating in the midst of a global pandemic, the School of Education’s inaugural Class of 2020 will be denied many traditional milestones. The School’s graduating MPhil Education Leadership and Management class of 45 students are heading into an uncertain world with a resilience that they may not yet realise. Because of COVID-19, the School of Education (SOE) administration had to scrap the usual farewell event and replaced it with a virtual ceremony on June 3. 

New RISE Working Paper and Insight Note

The Research for Improving Systems of Education (RISE) has released a new working paper and accompanying insight note by Tahir Andrabi, Dean of the School of Education, LUMS, Jishnu Das, Professor at Georgetown University, and Benjamin Daniels, Research Fellow at Georgetown University.


A majority of the world is confined to their homes as a result of the rapid spread of the Coronavirus. Classes at LUMS have also been moved online with majority of the staff and faculty working from home. However, just as LUMS has not let the current situation stop the students learning, it has also found a new way of keeping important conversations going. For More....

Ministry of Federal Education

Ministry of Professional and Technical Training was established in July 2011 in the wake of 18th Amendment. Some of the Departments/Organizations previously under MOLM and MOE were placed under this Ministry. Supreme Court of Pakistan in its Judgment dated 25th November, 2011 directed that in view of insertion of Article 25-A in the Constitution, the Federal Government cannot absolve itself from the responsibility of providing Education to its citizens.
