The Department of Economics at the Mushtaq Ahmad Gurmani School of Humanities and Social Sciences, LUMS and the School of Economics at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have entered into a partnership to offer a fully funded, joint PhD programme in Economics. Admitted PhD students will undertake their studies at the University of East Anglia, under the supervision of scholars at both Departments of Economics. At an MoU signing ceremony on November 15, Mr. Gohar Ejaz, CEO, Lake City Holdings, made another generous contribution of PKR 20 million towards the Gohar Ejaz Scholarship which will support National Outreach Programme (NOP) at LUMS. The Government College University (GCU) organised the first ‘All Pakistan Summit of the Students’ Societies’ where Vice Chancellor LUMS, Dr. Arshad Ahmad addressed participants from over 40 universities of Pakistan. Data Resource Unit (DRU) is an online repository of data resources developed by the Department of Economics at Lahore University of Management Sciences to facilitate academic and policy oriented research on Pakistan. With few exceptions, the data resources at CMER mostly consist of individual and household-level data from Pakistan’s household and labor force surveys, other government surveys, financial and provincial development statistics and LUMS surveys.
