Auditing: Writing Skills

ACCT 250

Academic Writing Lab

The Academic Writing Lab (AWL), previously known as Academic Writing Centre (AWC), is the brainchild of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) at LUMS. It came into being to reinforce college writing skills so that the quality of assignments can be improved. The endeavour was initiated especially to work on the quality of research writing at higher-level courses.

In order to make it a commendable experience at AWL, best-suited qualified writing tutors are taken on board, who are determined to ensure student-satisfaction so that it is a smooth college writing experience. With this facility available, students need not to fret about the structure and coherence of their argument. It is like half their worries are already taken care of, especially when students are struggling with the severe bout of writer’s block.

Case Research Centre

The Case Research Centre (CRC) plays a coordinating and editorial role in the development of well-researched case studies written by the SDSB faculty. The CRC also accesses teaching material produced by business schools in North America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region and manages an inventory of cases and other teaching material for the faculty.

An international case research journal "Asian Journal of Management Cases" is published biannually from the CRC.

The Case Research Centre has a database of more than 450 cases/industry notes written by the SDSB faculty. Additionally, over a hundred cases/industry notes are in the process of being developed. These Pakistan specific cases are drawn from real life issues in organisations experienced first-hand by our faculty as the result of research or consultation activities.
